On October 28, DCAEYC proudly participated and sponsored the DC Action’s Renaissance Awards, an annual event that honors individuals and organizations making a difference for children, youth, and families across the District.

The evening brought together community leaders, advocates, and policymakers to celebrate progress toward equity and opportunity for all DC residents.
Councilmember Janeese Lewis George (Ward 4) delivered remarks during the program, highlighting the importance of community partnerships in creating meaningful change.
DCAEYC’s Interim Executive Director, Berna Artis, attended the event with Beatriz Barros, DCAEYC's Interim President, connecting with partners including BB Otero and Travis Ballie, DC Action's Organizing Director - Under 3 DC Coalition.

Participation in events like the Renaissance Awards reflects DCAEYC’s continued commitment to collaboration and advocacy that strengthens the early childhood education field and supports professionals who serve young children and families every day.
