Updated: Sep 9

At DCAEYC, we believe that the best way to shape the future of early childhood education in Washington, D.C., is by empowering the educators, advocates, and community leaders who serve our children and families every day.

That’s why we’re opening the doors for new voices to step into leadership. On July 17, 2025, we held our annual Board Election Info Session, where we shared everything prospective Board members need to know about this year’s election process, and now we’re excited to share it with everyone in our community.

Whether you attended or missed the live session, we invite you to revisit the full recording, explore the open positions, and consider taking your next step with us.

Why Join the Board?

Serving on the DCAEYC Board is more than a title — it’s an opportunity to:

• Advocate for early childhood educators and the families they serve

• Shape policies and programs that uplift D.C.’s early care and education ecosystem

• Collaborate with passionate professionals across the city

• Develop your leadership, voice, and professional impact

We are currently inviting applications for several key Board roles. Please check on the application form to find what roles are current open. Each role has clear responsibilities and plays a critical part in our mission.
