Despite what the research tells us about the ways in which high-quality early care and education supports children’s healthy growth and development, U.S. leaders have failed to adequately invest in this sector. As a result, quality care remains unaffordable and inaccessible for many children and families. Early childhood educators across all settings—who are disproportionately women of color—are vastly undercompensated for their critically important work.

Together we will create just and equitable solutions.

DC AEYC, Northern Virginia AEYC and Maryland AEYC are pleased to announce a new cohort that will work together across the region. We are now recruiting early childhood educators working in family child care, in child care centers, and in school-based preschool and Pre-K programs.

This new 30-member cohort will work together from October through February to build community and a network for advocacy, and create a shared policy agenda.

This regional advocacy initiative will be rooted in collaboration and coordination, peer learning, and educator voice. Come and shape the community!

The application is now closed.
